60 Years of Cruse: Birmingham Conference Event Photography

This is the 60th year of Cruse Bereavement Care, and throughout the year they will be marking this milestone of supporting bereaved people with a series of events and celebrations. Last week, I had the privilege of photographing a very special event for Cruse - their Gala Dinner and Conference held in Birmingham.

A little about Cruse

Cruse Bereavement Care is the United Kingdom's largest bereavement charity, offering face-to-face, group, telephone, email and website support to people after someone close to them has died and works to enhance society's care of bereaved people.

If would you like to find out more about Cruse and the work they do, please visit https://www.cruse.org.uk/.

The Location: Birmingham Park Regis

Held in the Sky Gallery at the Park Regis Hotel in Birmingham over two days, the conference couldn’t have been in a better location.

Featuring world-class speakers from as far as the United States and Japan, The conference was a packed programme of seminars, workshops and networking opportunities as well as a special Gala Dinner and awards ceremony. So plenty to photograph!

Event Photography that tells a Story

As it was such an important event, and with so much going on it was crucial that I capture the atmosphere, people and special moments perfectly for Cruse to use for a wide range of purposes afterwards.

Through a mixture of candid, group and location shots I think I managed to do the event justice - I hope you agree!

Below I have set out some highlights from the conference to showcase just what a fantastic couple of days it was - enjoy!

I am excited to lead Cruse as we celebrate the past 60 years, and look forward to a future where every bereaved person has somewhere to turn when someone dies.
